It’s finally over!

The New Year Challenges have finally come to an end, so now we can all step back, take a deep breath, nurse our sore body parts, etc…etc…

New Year 100 Mile Running Challenge
The winner of this challenge was JetJaguar, who ran a hella crazy 185.59 miles. WooT!  Four people overall completed the full 100 miles:

  • JetJaguar: 185.59 miles
  • Kellbow88: 132.62 miles
  • Myself: 103.3 miles
  • Karyn: 100.5 miles

You can view the full leaderboard by clicking here.  Overall EVERYONE did an incredible job and should be proud of themselves. WooT!

New Year 500 Mile Biking Challenge
Ugh…this challenge was the bane of my existence.  I created this challenge not really having alot of experience on the bike, so I really didn’t know that 500 miles entailed.  I bounced it off of a friend and he said it seemed reasonable, but yeah, that friend was a dumbass :-P

BUT….we had four challengers, and one person was crazy awesome enough to actually pull it off!  Congratulations to Alex, who came in at 500.29 miles (or 805.14 kilometers, since he is Canadian)!!!

I personally gave in to the fact that I was not going to complete this, but I resolved to at least get 100 miles done.  I finished at 101.9, so kindaWooT to that. I want to congratulate Juncti (70 miles), and Mac11 (53.32 miles), who both still kicked some considerable butt as well.

So whats next?

As I said after Marathon Week, there will be more challenges.  I love creating these things, and I love seeing people succeed at them.  Future challenges MIGHT be done via Dailymile instead of Dailyburn, because I like the set up alot better, but we’ll see.

For right now I’m going to focus on getting on completing my 200 miles for the Perfect 10 Challenge, as well as…

Thats right, this month I will be trying my hand at the 100 Pushups Challenge, the 200 Hundred Situps Challenge, and the 200 Squats Challenge. WooT!

I was originally planning on starting them today, but unfortunately I haven’t done ANY of the initials tests yet (ugh). So next Monday will be the official start.

Are you in any challenges right now, and how are doing with them?

Are you thinking of starting a challenge? I’m always looking for something else to throw myself into, so talk about it here!

Happy Monday everyone!

Congrats on getting those challenges over and done with, pal! I bought Super Mario Brothers for the Wii this weekend. #1 – Heavens, so expensive! #2 – Love it. #3 Hate playing with my 11 year old on 2 player mode because all he ever does is pick me up and carry me on his head and won’t let me down. He thinks it’s the funniest thing ever. Hope you have a great week!

I will say this – it isn’t like old skool Mario! The hardest part for me is getting used to playing with two seperate controllers at a time and shaking the controllers at the right time. It’s so bonkers. I love the little propeller hat Mario….I’m on World One, I’ve been trying to sneak it in while my youngin’ is at his Dad’s. :)

  2. My challenge is to pick one thing, whether it is exercise, diet or attitude to push myself beyond my comfort zone. The Monday Morning Stretch. I have to have the right attitude and stop holding myself back because of my weight. That is my weekly challenge! This week is how I communicate both with my words and my actions.

Oooh the situps and squats one sound like they would be a fun challenge! I might sign up for that…pushups…ugh. I dunno if I can even do ONE!

  5. Congrats on meeting your goals. I signed up, and I just crapped out on it. Completely forgot to put my data in. Not sure if I hit one hundred miles or not, though.

I’ve thought about starting a challenge of my own; I’ll let you know if I ever manage to do it. :)

Great work on the 100 mile walk/run challenge – 100 miles in a month is awesome!

I’m getting ready to start week 6 of the 100 push ups challenge (my initial test had me start on week 3, so I’ve actually only been at it 3 weeks). In 3 weeks, I’ve doubled the number of consecutive push ups I can do – I started at 34, and last night I did 70.

I’ve also been thinking about starting the 200 squats challenge – maybe I’ll start that one next week too :)

Look at you all challenge crazy and crap. Good for you! I would join you in one of these fitness challenges, but that would require me actually stepping away from twitter and getting off my sofa buttdent. Don’t see that happening any time soon.

man, I’ve been feeling like a rockstar in your posts lately, thanks!

Kudos to everyone who put in such amazing work on the challenges, and thanks to you for starting them!

I took a stab at the 100 pushups before, but constantly ran into schedule issues. I know, it sounds weak. I think I was almost looking for an excuse to quit. The squats one intrigues me though.

My challenge? Well…I just clocked my first 5K and now someone invited me to a 1/2 marathon in April. Ack! Now THAT”s a training challenge!!

I’m just glad I didn’t come in last place on the running challenge! The competitive edge in me became more and more green throughout the month while I was icing and elevating! Glad to have gotten a few more miles in after being cleared for elliptical!

  11. josie says:

    Congrats dude!

I’d probably sign up for one of your future challenges if it were on dailymile! Go ahead, challenge me!

    You Rock.
    Aww, I want a challenge!
That’s not 200 squats in one day is it? Cus, that would suck ;)

  13. Merry Mary says:

You are all about the challenges aren’t you? Hehe. I’ve actually been considering doing a challenge on my blog, because I need something for myself to kick myself back into things, but I haven’t decided how exactly to go about it. If you have any ideas, throw them my way.

I’ve done a Marathon Week Challenge (26.2 miles in 7 days), and these most recent challenges. I’m trying to think of some new ideas too, I will definitely throw some ideas at you when I get em :)

  14. You are one challenge happy dude! :-) The thing is, if it motivates you, that is what matters. You are doing awesome!
